my name is meagan roesler (she/her) and I am currently training for and working towards a Birth Doula Certification through DONA International. I am also child free by choice and while I made that decision for myself several years ago, I have also always held such reverence for pregnancy and giving birth and the people who go through that journey. after years of working in childcare and not knowing why it didn’t feel like enough I worked several office jobs specializing in customer service that never seemed to stick. and then I was scrolling tiktok when I saw a video (unfortunately I can’t remember who it was by) in which they described their work as an abortion doula. the frantic research that followed was pure hyper fixation, except the need to know everything didn’t go away like it usually does. once I understood what a doula was - someone meant to support people before, during, and after pregnacy and birth and help ensure their journey reflects their wishes - I knew that this had been what I was looking for: a way to support birthing people in a meaningful way.
the name blossom co came from a siblings tattoo (pictured) I got with my two siblings. powerpuff girls was our favorite show growing up and we each identified with a specific one so a few years ago, we each got ours tattooed. as the oldest sibling, I have always been a Blossom and I’ve loved having her with me as a reminder of my family and to stay true to myself.
